Giant refuse collection vehicle manufacturer, MacDonald Johnston, an engineer-to-order manufacturing company, has purchased the Epicor ERP System from COGITA in Australia.

MacDonald Johnston, Australia, is part of, Bucher Industries, the CHF2.5 billion, global, multinational from Switzerland.

Over the last 50 years MacDonald Johnston Australia has been at the forefront of producing waste management refuse collection vehicles and commercial bathroom equipment. MacDonald Johnston and JD MacDonald are Bucher Industries' two primary brands.

MacDonald Johnston’s retail branches, throughout Australia and two manufacturing sites, in Victoria and Western Australia, offer spare parts and truck servicing to clients. To increase their market share MacDonald Johnston determined that new manufacturing software was essential.

The old systems, from multiple vendors, could not be economically improved to provide for MacDonald Johnston’s requirements.  In any case, even though their existing ERP software system did not provide the data accuracy or timely information needed to get desired efficiencies, MacDonald Johnston's management team progressed towards best practice manufacturing.

By contrast, the Epicor 9 ERP system, is fully integrated, 100% Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) manufacturing software application.
